The First time i visited this place was at the age of ten , then 2007, this summer i planed to visit with family , bu the time is not enough then , i went with my brother family , to him this is first time, when he was child once time he went with my parents , ok lets talk about this temple and some information .....

An Introduction to Kataragama
Tamil Hindus of Sri Lanka and South India refer to the place as Katirkamam and it has a famous Hindu shrine dedicated to Lord Katirkaman. The presiding Deity is Lord Murugan or Skanda. Saivite Hindus of South India call him also as Subrahmanya. Following are the other names to identify the same God in the Hindu texts: Kandasamy, Katiradeva, Katiravel, Karttikeya, and Tarakajit. Some of these names are derived from the root katir from Katirkamam. `Katir` means formless light. If you want to know more information click here http://kataragama.org/We start at morning then we reached at evening , when i enter that place i feel that place value , really its a good place. then one night i stayed there , that day night there was one peregara , schools childrens performance and other performance are superb
then morning we went sella kathirkamam its located near this place just 20 mints travel , there i had a bath in that river , then back to kathirkamam , then night we back to home. its was good experience here some photos
